Day four. What about fauna, flora and people.

Manaus, September 30 ,2010

During our fourth day at the Amazon we took a long boat trip to the meeting of the rivers. The boat trip lasted 2 hours and a half  to go and 3 hours and a half  to come back. In our way to the meeting of the rivers we saw many dolphins and we could also make an evaluation of the different societies at the city, Manaus. The opportunity to see the meeting of the rivers is an incredible and indescribable moment. When we first saw the both rivers the Amazon and the Solimões or( the Black River) fighting to separate their waters. all of us thought it was not true but when we kept looking at the rivers the first differences appeard.
After seeing this incredible scene we went to eat at the Ribeirihos population. There they were selling many types of the local arts such as hats that they made with palm leaves. When we were leaving we had a really rare opportunity of see a Sloth and its baby . Sean put the sloth on his back and walked with him for a long time. Unfortunately it was time to say good bye to that population. In the way back to the hotel we needed to stop to fill the Boats fuel then we stopped in a floating gas station! It was really cool. To end our day while Charlie was teaching us about the Fauna and Flora our boat broke and it was time for one more  adventure.
Here  is a summary of Charlie teachings about Fauna and Flora.    The fauna in the Amazon is very diverse with animals like the jaguar, Cayman, and Monkeys such as the Woolie Monkey. Some animals that are endangered are the pink dolphin, ocelot, jaguar and many many more. Animals that are unique to the region are the pink freshwater dolphin, poison dart frog, and the ocelot, if they disappear off the planet some animals won't be able to eat and starve to death or even become endangered themselves. The population of the Amazon is around 10 million people isn't that a lot for the Amazon?

The plant species is also very diverse with things such as the sword plant and the twisting liana. Did you know that plants can also be endangered just like animals? In case you didn't ,I didn't know either until about a month ago you were not alone not-knowing-about-endangered-plants people, anyways a few endangered plants in the Amazon are the Orchids, Rafflesia flower ,and  many more to list without taking up a page or more ,(in other words we are scared it's too much for you guys to handle(and also we are a little lazy of doing the list)!
                                                                                                                                   (just kidding)

Curiosity. You know from were the Pink dolphin get it color? It comes from the water of the rivers and from the food that he eat.
